Marlene lives on the levee under the Mississippi River Bridge along with Phil. We have gotten to know Marlene through our roaming after the thursday morning breakfast.  Marlene likes to journal where she writes of her personal experiences.....life on the streets and the good and the not so good.  She told us to always focus on the positive in everything we do. A great lesson for all of us !!!

Many weeks ago, we asked Marlene if she would share some of her writings with us and some time later she did just that.  During Hurricane Katrina Marlene also wrote an article that was published in the Times Picayune in New Orleans. PLEASE PRAY for Marlene as we just found out that she was picked up by the Police on some outstanding warrants and she is currently in jail.

We have not had a chance to post the writings she had given us to the website but feel that now was a good time to do so.  As you read her brief writings we ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers and pray that God will lift up her spirit. We also pray that God will give her favor and set in motion a plan (like Paul) to set his captives free !!! Although we do not know all of the facts, we sincerely feel Marlene does not belong in jail..... Thank YOU
